The Upsilon Gamma Gamma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity is pleased to invite you to be a part of the Brigadier General Charles Young High School Scholarship Essay Program. Upsilon Gamma Gamma is a military chapter located on Fort Eisenhower, Georgia and thus honors one of America’s outstanding military officers annually by awarding scholarships in the name of Brigadier General Charles Young. Brigadier General Young was the third African American male to graduate from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. His legacy is resiliency through determination, and success in the face of bigotry and racism. He rose through the trials of his time to become a successful officer, father, and husband. In honor of his steadfast determination and willingness to uplift others. The Upsilon Gamma Gamma Chapter prides itself on assisting college bound financially challenged seniors through the annual Brigadier General Charles Young Scholarship program.


The Upsilon Gamma Gamma Chapter is committed to awarding scholarships to outstanding students like you who have demonstrated interest in attending college after high school. This application is designed to collect academic and personal information for the review committee. Your responses to the questions and essay submittal will be a decisive factor in the selection process. The application deadline for the receipt of all materials is April 14, 2024. Applications can be physically mailed to P.O. Box 1079 Grovetown, Ga. 30813 or emailed to uggbgyoungscholarship@gmail.com. It is your responsibility to make sure that all information is postmarked by that date. All winners will be notified by May 15, 2024. If you are selected as a scholarship winner, you will be expected to confirm your final enrollment plans and begin-full-time study in the fall of 2024 before receiving the scholarship award. A letter from the registrar office is required to be mailed to the chapter’s address listed below.
